Gwen just bought a Michael Kors jacket -- $200 off, I might add -- and now I can't stop walking around saying "top American designer Michael Kors."
What's your favorite radio station, past or present?
WBOR Brunswick, 91.1 FM (mostly for sentimental reasons, because I was a DJ there all throughout college.)
Once I starting DJing in college, I also realized that Power 99 in Atlanta (which later became 99X) was really amazing for a radio station in a major market. They played The Pixies, Talking Heads, The Smiths, early REM, New Order, The Cure, and countless other bands you rarely hear on commercial radio now.
And, of course, the obligatory Indie 103.1 and KCRW mentions, since I'm in LA now... and since they still play the bands I mentioned above.
Yes, "Hips Don't Lie" is stuck in my head.
It's amazing how many people would use the $10,000 to pay off debts (or a mere fraction of their debt).
Although it's supremely unoriginal, I would probably follow in their footsteps.

So I haven't really been using Vox very much, because it's insanely slow on the two computers I use most often: the aging eMac at work (yes, being a TV writer is very glamorous — you should come see our bathrooms sometime) and the five year old PowerBook I use to check email and read RSS feeds in the living room.
I was griping to Gwen about how I never use the site because it's so slow and she was confused, because it works just fine on her iBook. Now I'm using our iMac (which I don't use that often, because our office has been doubling as a storage room and there's barely enough space to put a chair in front of the desk right now) and everything seems fine.
Who knew?
Sleep! I've been working crazy hours at a job that just ended -- Ah, the joys of freelance TV production -- so now it's time to catch up on some hard-earned sleep.
I have a coworker who I think is smart and talented, but whenever he uses the word segue he spells it: segway. Although I don't really think any less of him because of it — his poor spelling doesn't change the fact that he's a good filmmaker — it's still filed away in the back of my head as supporting evidence in case I ever start to think less of him.
So here's my question: is it more wrong to judge someone because he can't spell a difficult word or to keep a mental list of things to hold against someone, should we no longer be on friendly terms?
It's hard to believe, given my current habits, but I used to hate drinking soda as a child. I don't think I voluntarily drank a carbonated beverage until I was 13 or 14. Now I drink an average of one or two diet sodas every day.
And, yes, I do wonder what the never ending dose of chemicals is going to do to my body, but when it's time for some caffeine, I try to ignore the consequences.
